Professor in the Departments of Engineering & Public Policy and of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Edward S. Rubin holds a chair as The Alumni Professor of Environmental Engineering and Science, and was founding director of the university’s Center for Energy and Environmental Studies and the Environmental Institute. He is a Fellow Member of the ASME, recipient of the AWMA Lyman A. Ripperton Award for outstanding achievements as an educator, and the Distinguished Professor of Engineering Award from Carnegie Mellon. He serves on advisory committees to government agencies and was a coordinating lead author of the 2005 Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
