Professor of Management and Director of the Key University Research Centre for Corporate Governance at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Formerly he was Professor of Management at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, and was a member of the UK Royal Society of Art’s Tomorrow’s Company Inquiry into the sources of sustainable business success; assisting with the development of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance in Paris; and conducting a major ARC funded survey of The Changing Roles of Boards and Directors in Australia.

Among his publications are: Rethinking the Company, Financial Times, 1994; Theories of Corporate Governance, Routledge, 2004, 2012; Corporate Governance and Globalisation, Sage, 2006 (with Marie de la Rama); European Corporate Governance, Routledge, 2009 (with Jean-Francois Chanlat); International Corporate Governance: A Comparative Approach, Routledge Second Edition 2012; and The Handbook of Corporate Governance, Sage, 2012 (with Douglas Branson). He is the Corporate Governance and Sustainability section editor of the Journal of Business Ethics (Springer).
