Victoria Robinson

Victoria Robinson is currently Professor of Sociology at the University of York, UK, and Director of the Centre for Women’s Studies. She has also held academic posts at the universities of Sheffield, Manchester, and Newcastle. In the early 1990s she was responsible for setting up one of the first undergraduate degrees in Women’s Studies in the UK.

Robinson has published books and articles in the areas of women’s, gender, and masculinity studies, specifically in the areas of feminist theory, gender and sexualities, men and masculinities, fashion and footwear cultures, risk sports, and debates in women’s, gender, and masculinity studies in the academy. She is currently co-editor, with Professor Diane Richardson, of Palgrave’s international book series Genders and Sexualities.
